And its over. Starting before Christmas 2009, and after quizzes, football, band nights, tag rugby, head shaves, meetings, raffles, training cycles, jerseys, hoodies, a very early friday departure, beautiful cycling weather, over 200 tired legs, amazing nights out, music on the streets, radio interviews, bagpipes, juggling, bucket shaking, facepaints, batman & robin, buses, vans, one fractured leg, trucks, punctures, crashes, smiles, new friends, old friends, a lost pearl earring, an epic weekend, a great session in Donadea, and over €70,000 raised for the NBCRI, Maynooth Student's for Charity Galway Cycle 2010 is over and done.

Congratulations to everyone who took part in the weekend. Thanks to all of those who helped in any way. Each and every person involved can be proud to have played a part in the success that was Galway Cycle 2010.

 First of all I would like to thank Caroline Fiona and Mary for organising a very successful table quiz in B2 last night! Great fun was had by all, and Im sure a few people learn't a bit about arts and crafts too!!

There is a cake sale being held in the Arts block of the North campus today, so make sure you get yourselves over to sample a few and raise some money for the charity while you are at it! :)

Finally, the annual night out before the start of the GC will take place in B2 bar this coming Thursday where we hope to have a few poor souls leaving with a lot less hair then they arrived with!!

Well.... here it is..... the week of the cycle!! Hopefully all collection has been done, all training has been completed and now everyone is ready for what is expected to be an AWESOME weekend!!!

The final meeting for Cyclists, Collectors and Support Crew alike is on this Tuesday the 23rd of March in Callan Hall on the South Campus of NUIM at 7pm SHARP. (The left hand arch of the main building facing you as you enter the old campus gates)

Here you will receive all the information you will require for the weekend plus ..... of course..... the much sought after Hoodies and Jerseys!! Please bring your sponsorship money with you on this night also.

Cyclists remember: We are going to require a copy of some sort of ID from you on that evening. This has to be in by the time we head off on the Friday morning. If you do not have it.... you do not get on the bike!! Simple as that!! After the highly successful table quiz held before Christmas it was decided it would be rude not to allow some people to redeme themselves . Our last fundraiser before the big weekend of the cycle is to be held on Tuesday the 23rd of March in B2 bar, Maynooth, at 9pm!

Its only €10 per person (€8 student) with tables of 4/5, and all proceeds go to the Galway Cycle 2010 for NBCRI. All welcome! Expect great prizes, great craic and great company. Plus a few questions...and stuff!!!

  The second Booksale, held in the college last Wednesday, was once again very successful in raising the much needed funds for the NBCRI charity.

  A big thank you must go out to Maggs and Seamus who once again organised a very fruitful fundraiser!!

Booksale

Firstly, our annual booksale is happening in the Arts Block, North Campus, NUIM on 10th March (Wednesday) from approximately 9am - 3pm. All book donations are welcome - thanks to those who have contributed so far! They can be dropped over to Margaret on the morning of the sale or alternatively they can be dropped into the president's office on campus, 1.8 LaraghBryan House (formally St. Anne's) NUIM. Please come down and have a mozy about on Wednesday!

Bag Pack

Secondly, we are having a second bag pack in Tesco's Maynooth this weekend. The galway cyclers will be manning the tills on FRIDAY 12th March (4pm-9pm) and SATURDAY 13st March 10am-10pm). We urgently need volunteers for these events! Thanks to everyone who has volunteered to help so far! So, if you are available at ANY time during the weekend, please email fundraising@galwaycycle.ie and let us know when. Alternatively, there is a form at http://www.galwaycycle.ie/volunteer-form where people can submit their names to volunteer and help us at this and future events. Cyclists, if possible, show the face after the cycle on the Saturday also. :)
